Three new webinars led by internationally recognized governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) expert will explore pandemic-specific risk management challenges and solutions

ATLANTA & LONDON – Riskonnect, the leader in integrated risk management (iRM) solutions, today announces three new webinars have been added to its Risk@Work webinar series, each focused solely on helping risk management professionals across the globe address risk impacts caused by COVID-19. These specific webinars are a three-part series, led by GRC pundit Michael Rasmussen. The first will be held on April 9, 2020, and offer actionable advice and insights for navigating pandemic-related risk management challenges.

“These are unprecedented times for everyone. Strong GRC programs are needed more than ever to help companies deal with the uncertainty,” said Michael Rasmussen, GRC Analyst & Pundit at GRC 20/20 Research. “Integrating risk and business continuity management is key for operational resiliency in times like these. This series will offer balanced strategies and best practices for responding to today’s crisis and preparing for future widespread risk events.”

The three-part series will explore various lines of defense companies can establish to manage evolving risk during the global COVID-19 pandemic, including:

  • Navigating Chaos: Engaging the First Line of Defense in a Time of Crisis (April 9): This webinar will share how to engage a company’s frontlines within the context of GRC, a critical strategy as business changes rapidly, processes evolve, and organizations figure out how to operate with remote workforces.
  • Navigating Chaos: Monitoring Risk in the Second Line of Defense in a Time of Crisis (April 28): This session will delve into how organizations can advance back-office functions and monitor risk while facing a new workplace environment with different dynamics, processes, and paradigms.
  • Navigating Chaos: Providing Assurance and the Role of the Third Line of Defense in a Time of Crisis (May 12): The series will finish with a session on how organizations can adapt internal audit and assurance functions, which now must assess and provide assurance of the changing environment’s impact on operations.

“Organizations have been forced to quickly adopt new policies, approaches, and procedures to deal with the immediate impacts of the pandemic. While some of the changes will be temporary, others will become the new normal for enterprise risk management,” said Andrea Brody, chief marketing officer at Riskonnect. “We’ve added these topics to our Risk@Work webinar series to equip all risk professionals with the knowledge, best practices, and tools they need to navigate through this difficult time, as well as position themselves for success in the future.”

Michael Rasmussen has been noted as the “Father of GRC” for being the first to define and model the GRC market. He has over 27 years of experience helping organizations improve GRC processes, design and implement GRC architectures, and select effective, efficient, and agile solutions.
