Provides solution to meet OSHA’s electronic reporting standards

Riskonnect, the leader in integrated risk management solutions, continues to demonstrate why its software is built for the needs of today’s risk managers. Earlier this year, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) announced that they are requiring employers to submit electronic reports of injury and illness data. To meet these new standards, Riskonnect users can rely on the OSHA Compliance Solution to ensure they remain compliant.

The Riskonnect OSHA Compliance Solution improves data accuracy by eliminating disparate systems that require independent data entry, effectively reducing duplicate and incomplete data. Additionally, the solution simplifies incident report processes through an OSHA classification wizard, which provides guided assistance for employees to classify work-related injuries or illnesses. This allows employers to produce a comprehensive CSV file of data that meets OSHA’s electronic reporting standards, including the ability to accurately report on Days Away, Restrictions and Transfers (DART) and Days Away From Work (DAW) incidence rates.

In addition to meeting OSHA standards, the software also monitors incident report trends, allowing compliance officers to accurately analyze and develop appropriate remediation strategies to reduce future incidents.

OSHA started accepting electronic submissions on Aug. 1, 2017 and all employers are required to submit 2016 reports by Dec. 1, 2017. Using these electronic submissions, OSHA will focus on more efficiently allocating their compliance assistance resources while also providing employers and workers with valuable insights on injury and illness trends. The electronic reporting will be phased in over the next two years to acclimate employers on the new process, with full enforcement starting in 2019.
